- Knows the advantages and disadvantages of using EHRs
- Knows the benefits and limitations of EHRs
- Knows the benefits and limitations of PHRs
- Knows the EHR systems and its data components
- Skills:
- Can distinguish between different recording approaches and solutions
Module 2
- Competence:
- Is able to identify, select and implement the appropriate EHR solutions
- Knowledge:
- Understands the EHR functionalities
- Knows of clinical data warehousing
- Understands standardized EHRs data persistence mechanism
- Understands data storage models’ suitability for EHRs functions and requirements
- Understands the advantages of a fully functional EHR
- Understands the basics of EHR architecture
- Skills:
- Implements primary clinical use of single patient data
- Carries out secondary research use of groups of patients’ data
- Uses free EHR software
Module 3
- Competence:
- Is able to identify, select and implement the appropriate PACS solution
- Is able to integrate RIS and PACS Systems to improve their workflow
- Knowledge:
- Understands the advantages and disadvantages of PACS
- Understands the differences between RIS and PACS.
- Knows the PACS components
- Understands the advantages and disadvantages of RIS functions
- Knows the basics of PACS and Open Source PACS
- Skills:
- Consults with the system provider or the IT specialist when deciding on which hardware to use
- Follows the correct order for a radiological workflow
- Acts in specified roles as information broker
Module 4
- Competence:
- Can work according to standards for information sharing in the healthcare sector
- Can identify and assess core aspects of cloud-based information systems
- Knowledge:
- Understands the basics of DICOM and HL7
- Knows of the specifics in privacy and security
- Has a basic understanding of cloud-based systems
- Understands the advantages and disadvantages of cloud-based systems
- Skills:
- Uses standardised platform services for filesharing and data communication
- Differentiates between available cloud-based solutions
- Judge risks and benefits of cloud-based systems vs locally networked solutions
