This course focuses on the concept of leadership in general and its impact   on the circular economy and the agriculture sectors.

The course is divided into 3 modules:

A thorough introduction to leadership theories and styles, including transformational, transactional, and authentic leadership, is given in Module 1.  Module 1 also discusses the idea of a leader and the distinction between a manager and a leader and the relation between leadership and innovation Group discussions in the module focus on issues like:

  • How leaders can shape a workplace culture,
  •  How leaders can make employees feel valued and supported and how they can  foster a culture of innovation within their teams and organizations

Module 2 focuses on  the emotional intelligence and the leadership impact to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues. Group discussions in this module deal  with issues such as:  

  • What are some strategies for generating and evaluating new ideas that communicate this vision effectively to their team?
  • In what ways can leaders address systemic inequalities and biases?
  • How can leaders hold themselves and others accountable for creating a more equitable workplace?

Module 3 discusses the impact of leadership on sustainable agriculture and the circular economy. In this module, group discussions touch on topics such as:

  • How can leaders ensure that projects are aligned with the organization’s goals and priorities?
  • What are some strategies for delegating tasks and responsibilities effectively, and how can leaders ensure accountability and ownership?

  • Communication and Implementation of Principles
  • Raising Awareness and Facilitating Knowledge-Sharing
  • Sustainability Reporting and System Thinking
  • Implementing Circular Economy Practices
  • Circular Economy and Business Competitiveness

  • Innovation and Implementation of Practices
