Course 1  provides a comprehensive introduction to the circular economy, combining economic and technological foundations with practical applications in agriculture. Course 1 consists of Module 1 and Module 2.

Module 1 presents the principles of the circular economy, its economic and environmental impacts, and the role of technologies like IoT, blockchain, and AI in enabling sustainable practices in the agricultural sector. In addition, Module 1 discusses case studies, teaches learners to perform cost-benefit analyses, and develop investment plans for circular economy projects in their agriculture business, gaining skills in economic assessment, risk management, and technology integration.

Module 2 focuses on building resilience and diversification in agricultural businesses through circular economy principles. During Module 2  learners are trained to identify risks from external shocks (e.g., climate change, market volatility) and develop strategies to enhance their resilience in agriculture, such as crop diversification, water conservation, and soil health improvement. In addition, during Module 2, learners explore income diversification through practices like agrotourism, renewable energy generation, and waste reuse. Module 2 utilises real-world case studies, group discussions, and practical exercises to help learners design and implement resilience and diversification plans into their agriculture activities.
