Course introduction
This course focuses on how energy costs impact economies across different industries and how new technology and management strategies might optimize energy expenditures.
The course is divided into 3 modules:
Module 1 present the potentials of renewable energy sources and the ways are been applied in different sectors. Module 1 also discusses the impact of Artificial Intelligence in renewable energy resourses and the gains derived from it. Group discussions focus on issues like:
- What are the Benefits of Renewable Energy Systems in economy and agriculture sector?
- Why isn’t everyone using Renewable Energy technologies?
Module 2 discusses the trends and prospects of the energy sector, the guidelines for the development of a sustainable energy system, the blockchain emerging technologies, the energy consumption efficiency, and the circular economy as a catalyst for energy sector. Group discussions focus on issues like:
- How does AI help the operation of energy infrastructures placed in agricultural area?
- Is AI useful for storing and transporting energy? How can it be used in the agriculture sector?
Module 3 focuses on the impact of circular economy in regional development in EU and the policies against energy price volatility. Group discussions focus on issues like:
- Most of the world’s power still comes from burning carbon. Can we substantially decarbonize and be “greener” based on principles of circular economy?
- Can we keep the cost of energy low enough to sustain economic growth?
- Can we optimize resources by creating regional electricity grids, with benefits to the agriculture sector?
